Voting Will Not Help TAJ MAHAL’s Position in 7 Wonders

June 28, 2007

Recently, you might have heard of the TAJ movement whereby politicians, newspapers, news channels and other officials are requesting to vote for TAJ to include TAJ MAHAL in the list of 7 wonders of the world, but let me clear this fact, this is not going to help TAJ MAHAL’s position in 7 wonders. Now, even if you vote for TAJ MAHAL either by sending SMS or by voting for it online but you r voting will not count or guarantee the inclusion of TAJ MAHAL in 7 wonders list.

It has been cleared that neither the Indian Government nor the UNESCO has any relation to the discovery of new 7 wonders despite the huge efforts of media and other people. It will be just for the sake of name that TAJ MAHAL will be included in the list of new 7 wonders. Earlier, the Egyptian government had confirmed that the government has separated itself from the inclusion of pyramids in the list of new 7 wonders.

UNESCO has also cleared the fact that it has got no relation to the movement of new 7 wonders. Earlier, it was being considered that with the help of movement, UNESCO new list of 7 wonders was being modified, but, UNESCO has cleared the fact that this movement is totally private and it has no relation with it. The movement was made popular by the media and on the internet, by asking people to vote for TAJ MAHAL by sending SMS to 4567 or by voting online on the website. But, now it has been cleared that it was a mere plan to create havoc on the internet and on the media to force the people to vote for TAJ either by SMS or by voting online. Now, it is clear that many of the people and organizations were the only benefiters from this movement.

Following were the benefiters:

  1. Media got the news to display on TV and newspaper for a month.
  2. Mobile companies were the large benefiters as people were sending SMS to 4567 and this is a special number for which every mobile company charges either 3 Rs. or 6 Rs. per SMS.
  3. Politicians got a new way to waste country’s resources and precious time of the people by starting rally’s and new movements.
  4. Internet was yet another benefiter because many people opened up the voting system on their website encouraging people to vote for TAJ.

UNESCO has confirmed that the movement for new 7 wonders will be considered totally private. The list that is the advice of only those people, who can reach internet, can’t be considered as the advice of whole country. UNESCO stated that the new wonders chosen by the private foundation will not allow for a big help in maintaining these wonders. Private foundation even requested UNESCO but the request was rejected.

In India, inclusion of TAJ movement has gone on a big scale and even Central Tourism Minister voted for TAJ and this clears that now even the politicians have started taking advantage of such movements to gain sympathy and vote of people.
