Many people feel that potty training a puppy is a tough task but it is really not that tough if don with patience and interest rather than taking it as a burden. One can follow these tips to help them in training their puppies.
- Always choose an appropriate place where you want your puppy to do its potty, normally a small area in your lawn is an ideal place for that. Usually the place should not be cleaned too frequently so as to enable the puppy to find that place with the help of the smell of wastes it left earlier.
- if your puppy accidentally shits inside your house do be upset and clean that place totally leaving nothing at all as your puppy may smell it and assume that place as a the place to shit.
- Always reduce the amount of water and food given to the puppy before it goes to sleep in the night as the chances of accidents are more when puppy's stomach is full.
- The puppy should have an easy access to the potty area. This can be done either by keeping the door open or by fix a bell besides the door which a puppy can reach easily so that whenever puppy wants to go out it can ring the bell to inform you.
Never keep your expectations high in the beginning as the puppies take some time to learn all these things. Just be patient and keep on following the schedule and your puppy would learn all the basics. |
