Shih Tzu Puppy Training

Shih Tzu puppies like to please their master and they try their best to do that. if you will praise these puppies and show some affection they will get trained faster. Incase you cannot pay full attention to these puppies its better to deny them full access to your home as they are quite immature at such age. Until they are 12 weeks old you cannot expect them to control their bladder and thus the use of carrying crates should be avoided.

After they have attained the age of 12 weeks they should be fed at a fixed time everyday. Always take them out to shit and this should be the thing to do when you getup in the morning. However when they are a year old they should be fed twice daily. Always be sure that your puppy gets a rich diet full of nutrients.

They should be water at around seven thirty in the evening for the last time and should be taken out immediately after that. Puppy can be trained to reveille itself either outside the house or it can be paper trained. Paper training a puppy means training them to urinate at any fixed place inside the house having a paper base. However you must choose only one method and not both as this would confuse the puppy and all they efforts to train may go in vein.

These puppies also need an area inside the house where they can be confined. Kitchen can be used as a good confinement area as the surface there is quite hard and there is no fear of wires or any electronic equipment lying down anywhere. Use odors to prevent puppies from smelling any area inside the house where they accidentally urinated earlier otherwise the would develop a habit to always use that place for such purposes.
