How to Get Rid Of Bad Breath

Bad breath often referred to as halitosis, means that you have an unpleasant smell on your breath that other people notice when you speak or breathe out. A main problem with bad breath is that the only person not to notice it is the person affected. (You get used to your own smell and do not tend to notice your own bad breath.) Often, the only way to know about it is if a person comments on it. There are many rumors about the reason of bad breath whether it comes from mouth or from places other than mouth.

The immediate cause of bad breath is infected gums & teeth. To get rid of bad breath, brush your teeth at least twice a day with a soft-tufted brush. The head of the brush should be small enough to get into all the areas of the mouth. Change you toothbrush every few months. You may also find an electric toothbrush better than traditional toothbrush. As a rule you should use toothpaste that contains fluoride as it helps in preventing tooth decay.

Other ways to get rid of bad breath are:

1. Try using an antiseptic mouthwash at least once a day as it aims to kill bacteria. Also, clean the back of your tongue at least once a day.

2. You can also use a soft toothbrush dipped in mouthwash and not toothpaste and place it as far as you can and then gently rub forward to clear the tongue of any covering.

3. You can also chew sugar free gum after each meal. Chewing sugar free gum increases the flow of saliva that helps to 'flush' the mouth to help clear any fragments remaining from the meal. Consult your dentist for advice on how to get rid of bad breath.
